The red carpet at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards was teeming with glamorous looks that shined as bright as the stars who wore them. Sparkles have been a standout trend this season — from sheer gowns overlaid with sequins to bedazzled matching sets — and a certain sparkly purse did not disappoint.
Krista Marie Yu, nominated for Best Comedy for Hulu’s “Reboot,” was among the few who received a coveted “Best Look” shout-out by Vogue and we can totally see why. The 34-year-old wore an ivory lace midi dress ($625) by Aje characterized by short puff sleeves and a fitted bodice with an open back, a classic silhouette for the brand. The raw edging throughout contrasted nicely with her accessories. Particularly her custom-made Champagne Shimmer Bella Clutch ($2,250) that features a sparkle effect leather which is smooth to the touch.
The signature clasp, inspired by a vintage oval-shaped sapphire ring, matched the early Hollywood glamour of Fox & Bond’s vintage accessories. The long diamond and 18k gold flower earrings ($2890) and silver textured ring added an element of enchantment, and combined nicely with the romance of the lace fabric. These pieces worked in tandem with Sam Edelman pointed-toe pumps adorned with a crystal-embellished bow accent for a classic finish.
While her outfit was put together by the talented costume designer Reiko Schoenfeld who Yu worked with on the set of “Reboot,” makeup and hair artist Vicky Chan provided heart-shaped glitter to sprinkle onto her high bun with piecy layers pulled forward to shape her face.
